Lin Jacobson – AKC Certified Dog Trainer

Lin has lived and worked with dogs all her life and can’t imagine having a home without canine companionship.  As a baby, her first word was “doggy”, predicting a life-long friendship and commitment to her 4-legged friends.  Her experience with animals is not limited to dogs, she has also shared a home with horses, stray cats, turtles, birds and a calf named Daisy.

Currently, she and her husband, Brian, share their home with 2 Scottish Deerhounds, Coren and Maret.

  • Coren comes from a long line of show dogs.  His Aunt Hickory won Best in Show at the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Show in New York.  Coren is a natural in the ring and enjoys “strutting his stuff” before the judge.  It took work and lessons for Lin and Coren to understand how to successfully work as a team.  He has become a Champion and is now on his way to earning his Grand Championship title.

Coren Wins

  • Maret is the newest member of the Jacobson family. Growing fast at 4 months, he is pushing 55 pounds. He, too, has an impressive pedigree and looks to have the showmanship necessary to become a Champion in his own right.

For 10 years, Lin and her Deerhound partners (Patryn and Xar) were active Therapy Dog teams, participating in Reading 2 Rover programs at schools and libraries, visiting children at a Behavioral Health Center and residents at nursing homes. She and Brian are members of the SDCA (Scottish Deerhound Club of America), and co-founders of Light in the Window, a not-for-profit animal welfare foundation,

As an experienced AKC Certified Dog Trainer, Lin is offering in-home obedience training for dogs of all ages. Using positive methodology, training programs are personalized, ranging from basic obedience to CGC Certification.
