LIVING WITH DOGS

I have lived and worked with dogs all my life and can’t imagine having a home without canine companionship.  As a baby, my first word was “doggy”, predicting a life-long friendship and commitment to my 4-legged friends.  My experience with animals is not limited to dogs, I have also shared a home with horses, stray cats, turtles, birds and a calf named Daisy.

I have had the opportunity to work and train a wide variety of dogs and puppies during my career. My personal choice of canine companion is the Scottish Deerhound. The first joined our family in 2002 and since then this giant breed has earned a special place in our home and hearts.

For 10 years, my Deerhounds (Patryn and Xar) and I worked together as a Therapy Dog team, participating in Reading 2 Rover programs at schools and libraries, visiting children at a Behavioral Health Center and residents at nursing homes.
